Allen Institute for AI (Ai2)
A nonprofit AI research institute founded by Paul Allen in 2014, based in Seattle with an office in Tel Aviv. Publisher of the open OLMo model family and primary institutional affiliation behind byteification — five of the paper's nine authors (including the two senior authors) are AI2-affiliated, and the byteified Bolmo models retrofit AI2's own Olmo 3 7B and OLMo 2 1B.
