Pierre F. Aubert
Author and maintainer of spinorama, the open database that publishes CTA-2034 measurements and computed preference scores for over a thousand loudspeakers. GPL-3.0, in Python with Cython and Rust extensions, worked on since February 2020 and still pushed daily.
The spoke's third named individual, after geoff-hill (who writes the measurement standards) and sean-olive (who fitted the preference model). Aubert is the one who runs the model — he measures nothing and fits nothing, and instead applies somebody else's regression to somebody else's measurements, in public, at scale. That is a distinct and useful role: the caveats on spinorama about smoothed data inflating a score are the kind of finding only the party doing the arithmetic on mixed-quality inputs would notice.
No commercial interest is stated or apparent — no speaker to sell, no measurement service, no paid tier — which is the reason the score he publishes is worth more than the same score published by a manufacturer.
