Snowflake Computing
The company that built snowflake. Founded 2012; began implementation late 2012, with the warehouse generally available on AWS since June 2015. The authors of the SIGMOD 2016 paper (Dageville, Cruanes, Zukowski et al.) are its architects — Marcin Zukowski earlier co-created the Vectorwise/MonetDB-X100 vectorized-execution lineage, which connects this org to the broader columnar query-engine tradition the spoke sits in.
