Independently corroborated
The “cheap and simple / best price-per-resource” pitch now survives a neutral benchmark: vpsbenchmarks-docean-hetzner grades Hetzner above digitalocean on value (≈4× RAM / 2× cores for ~37% more cost), with its sharpest edge in network throughput — vendor claim validated against independent data, not just marketing.
Update — re-verified 2026-07-03
The “cheap simple cloud solution / Made in Germany / GDPR / ISO-27001” positioning is unchanged against Hetzner’s current site. Two things have moved since the 2026-05-29 ingest, both worth recording:
- It is no longer EU-only. Cloud servers now run in Germany (Falkenstein, Nuremberg), Finland (Helsinki), the US (Oregon, Virginia), and Singapore — the low-cost pitch now reaches North America and APAC, not just the German/EU footprint the original summary implied. This softens (without erasing) the “European sovereignty” read of the oracle-cloud-free contrast.
- ARM64 has arrived — the RX-Line (Arm64/Ampere) server line sits alongside the shared (Cost-Optimized / Regular) and dedicated-vCPU (General Purpose) tiers.

price claim, so nothing dated needed correction — the value benchmark still
