Matt von Hippel
A former theoretical particle physicist (an "amplitudeologist," by his own old field's name) who left research for science writing. He blogs weekly at 4gravitons.com since 2012 and has written for Quanta Magazine, Ars Technica and Scientific American.
Anthropic invited and paid him to write "Yes, Claude can do Nine Loops" — his own physics background is why he was the one asked to narrate a result in his old subfield. The post states the opinions are his own even though Anthropic staff reviewed drafts; that paid-guest arrangement is the reason the source is tiered T3 rather than read as neutral reporting.
