Worth noting for how the study was staffed: the author list crosses Chalmers, the University of Gothenburg, RISE Research Institutes of Sweden (the Swedish state research institute) and Volvo Cars. That an OEM co-authors a paper reporting 140-page guidelines, review rates cut for budget and rework at 3× the cost of doing it properly is part of why the account is usable — it is not an outside critique of the industry.
