awesome-db-tools
A curated, community catalog of ~200+ tools for working with databases — explicitly the tools around databases, not the engines themselves. Maintained by Maksim Gramin (@mgramin), CC0 (public domain), ~5.2k★. It represents the “tooling around them” half of this spoke’s domain, the operational layer between a database that runs and one that runs in production.
What it catalogs
Tools across 20+ categories: IDE / GUI clients, CLI tools, schema management (migrations, codegen, diagrams, docs, design), API builders, backup and cloning, monitoring / performance, testing, high-availability and sharding, Kubernetes integration, config tuning, DevOps automation, reporting, security, SQL utilities (analyzers, formatters, parsers), and data tooling (catalog, lineage, generation, masking, profiling, replication, comparison), plus ML integration.
Spans all engine types
Its tools cover OLTP (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server), NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis), and data warehouses (Snowflake, ClickHouse) alike. So while its center of gravity — clients, migration, backup, HA — is squarely operational, it deliberately reaches across the OLTP/OLAP line into the analytical siblings’ territory too. That breadth is why it’s the tooling member here rather than in the OLAP-only analytical spoke.
Tier
T3 — a useful, high-signal index of the DB-tooling field, but a link catalog, not an analysis; its value is coverage and as a source of page candidates (its HA/sharding and migration entries point at future subjects like the tools named in database-sharding).
