Micka — loudspeaker enclosure calculator

A free online enclosure-design calculator that takes a driver’s Thiele/Small parameters and predicts how it will perform in a given box — the tool end of the wiki’s founding trio (the theory is ts-parameters-explained, the physics is loudspeaker-primer-hackaday). T2: a well-known, widely-used DIY tool, though a tool’s model is only as good as its assumptions.

What it does

  • Box types. Vented/bass-reflex (Bullock alignment), closed/sealed (with an adjustable Qtc), and custom enclosures.
  • Inputs. Either pick a driver from a built-in database of hundreds of models (18Sound, Beyma, Eminence, Faital, and others) or type in T/S parameters by hand for a custom driver.
  • Outputs. Simulated frequency response, impedance curve, step response, and group delay — so you can compare box volumes and port tunings before cutting any MDF. Includes temperature compensation for the acoustic maths.

Why it matters here

It is the design loop closed: the abstract parameters become a predicted curve you can iterate against. It also grounds the spoke’s central claim — that a driver’s behavior in a box is calculable in advance from its parameters, not found by trial and error — and shows where the design choices actually live (box volume, port tuning, sealed Qtc).
