Vivaldi
Vivaldi is an independent European browser by CEO Jón von Tetzchner (an ex-Opera founder), built on Chromium but pitched on customization + privacy + power-user features. Tier T3 (first-party site). It stacks deep tab management (tiling, stacking, workspaces), integrated mail / calendar / feed reader, web panels, notes, screenshots; rejects data mining/profiling, with E2E sync encryption and built-in ad/tracker blocking.
Vivaldi’s sharp contribution to the spoke is a stated anti-AI stance: it has committed to keeping generative AI out of the browser — the deliberate inverse of the whole ai-browser race. It stakes out the market’s third position beyond “AI assistant” and “AI agent”: refuse AI on principle, betting some users want the browser to stay a tool, not an agent. Pairs with ladybird (independence) and brave (privacy) as the non-AI pole.
