Branimir Karadžić
Author and copyright holder of bgfx, the cross-platform rendering library — the licence reads "Copyright 2010-2026 Branimir Karadzic," so the work predates the repository's 2012 opening by two years and is still current. Discovered while ingesting bgfx.
He owns the two libraries bgfx is built against, in the same GitHub account: bx ("Base library
used across multiple projects") and bimg ("Image library"). bgfx's build documentation makes the
coupling explicit — "the directories for bx, bimg, and bgfx should all be siblings of each
other" — and its build tooling (GENie) ships in the bx repository, so all three are cloned together.
One person's account holds the whole stack that roughly seventy shipped projects depend on, Minecraft and Guild Wars 2 among them. That is the bus factor of the native middleware rung, and nothing in the corpus records a succession plan for it.
