Opera Neon

Opera Neon is Opera's agentic browser — "built to act." Tier T3 (first-party product site). Instead of one assistant it wires in multiple task-specific AI agents that read pages, keep context across tabs/sources, compare information, and produce outputs (agendas, research, documents). Its framing is the browser as an active layer where work happens, not a passive window.

Two things make Neon distinctive in the ai-browser agentic pole:

• It speaks the agent stack's own protocols — MCP and CLI integration, connecting the browser's context to external tools. That's the clearest bridge to ../agentic-tooling-wiki's MCP thread: the agentic browser is an MCP client/surface, not a walled garden.
• Agentic and privacy in one — built-in ad-blocking and VPN ship by default, so Neon sits on both the AI and privacy fronts (like its sibling Opera Air does on the wellbeing front). Per browser-wars-2026 it's a paid tier (~$19.90/mo).

The $19.90/month price holds. What changed since ingest is who can buy it: Neon shipped 30 September 2025 to a waitlist-only "Neon Founders" program, and Opera opened public access on 2025-12-11. Opera's release notes name Gemini 3 Pro, GPT-5.1, Veo 3.1 and Nano Banana Pro as the models behind the Chat / Do / Make agents — worth recording because it makes Neon a model-agnostic shell, like Aside's bring-your-own-subscription arrangement and unlike Atlas or Comet, each of which was its own vendor's model in a browser. Atlas is now shut down; Neon is not.
