designboom
A daily web magazine on industrial design, architecture and art, founded in 1999 by Birgit Lohmann and Massimo Mini and now based in Milan; owned by NZZ Mediengruppe since January 2022. It was the first web magazine to cover industrial design internationally.
It is this spoke's first source from the design press rather than the music-gear press (synth-anatomy, synthtopia, bedroom-producers-blog, musictech, piano-and-synth-magazine), and the difference is visible in the one article held: orphea-designboom describes enclosure geometry, key feel, speaker placement and footprint in detail and never says what makes the sound. A gear outlet leads with the engine; a design outlet leads with the object.
