The Pure Data patches ship as DAW plugins

The Pd section's instruction is the technically interesting part: download plugdata (plugdata.org, free) and the patches "run as plugins directly inside your digital audio workstation." So the patches are not standalone-Pd artifacts — plugdata wraps them into a format a DAW can host, which is what lets a Pd patch and a Max for Live device sit side by side on the same page as comparable products (patching-environment).

Both Pd patches are granular, one of them an LFO built to modulate the other — a two-part patch set rather than two independent tools.

Device names as a description

Re-checked 2026-09-03 (absence-claim drain): the retraction below still stands, and more documentation has appeared since. SYNTH ANATOMY covered Vector Sampler Morph in January 2026, the composer's own site now carries per-device pages (No/Input Synth, Syntharmonic, MatrixSynth), and the devices are sold through Gumroad. The 2026-07-26 sentence is doubly false now.

Noted for the hub backlog: this page was flagged by check:arguments even though it already carried a dated retraction, because the original claim is quoted verbatim on the page and the checker's RETRACTED vocabulary (superseded, retracted, no longer true, corrected, closed since, overtaken) did not include the word this page used. Fixed by wording the retraction with corrected rather than by widening the regex — "wrong" is too common a word to add to it safely. Written 2026-07-26: With no documentation anywhere, the names are the only evidence… Corrected 2026-08-30 (struck 2026-09-17; it was quoted before). The fetch that built this page reached one index page. The devices are also listed on maxforlive.com, the community library, with per-device entries; the site itself splits them across numbered collection pages (/maxforlive/maxforlive2/, …4, …7, …8); and some are sold through Gumroad with product copy — Cassette Tape is described there as an emulation of tape wear, wow and flutter and analog hiss, and Collapse as a sampler built in Max/MSP. So documentation exists; it is scattered across three channels and none of them is the index page this wiki read. The naming inference below was sound reasoning from a source that was narrower than the page assumed. The names still cluster as described, and they cluster: Generative, Oblique Strategies (Eno and Schmidt's card deck, so chance-based prompting), Vectordrone, Iceberg, Sweetspace, Broken Sphere — ambient, generative, and texture tools rather than mixing or corrective ones. Tetraligeti points at Ligeti, Irrational Delay and Loop Paradox at time manipulation. That matches his stated practice: theatre and cinema scoring using "MIDI, texture ambient and dreamy atmosphere."

The gap

No device is documented. The M4L index page carries names and download links and nothing else — no description, no price, no Live/Max version requirement, no screenshots. Whether the 13 (or the full eight pages) are free is not stated anywhere the fetch could reach; only the two Pd patches are explicitly free. So the inventory is solid first-party fact and everything about what any individual device does is inference from its name. A per-device page would settle it.
