Mario Zechner
Austrian developer, GitHub handle badlogic, author of Pi and the reason
oh-my-pi exists to be forked from. Verified from the GitHub API on 2026-08-30: the account
badlogic carries the name "Mario Zechner", the blog mariozechner.at, 262 public repositories
and 7,536 followers, open since December 2010. Pi is published under the
Earendil Works organization rather than his personal account.
He is the source of one of this spoke's live arguments. Pi's front page justifies "No MCP" by
linking his post "What if you don't need MCP?" (2025-11-02) — the same position
KOT reached independently in August 2026 with its cli-wrapper tool, that the transport
is the accidental part of MCP and a documented CLI does the job. Two
harnesses, one argument, and it predates the corpus's record of it by nine months.
The corpus knew him before it knew his software: oh-my-pi was ingested on 2026-06-01 as "a fork of Mario Zechner's Pi," and the upstream sat unpaged until 2026-08-30.
Nothing else here is verified. He has no Wikipedia or Wikidata entry (checked 2026-08-30), and no biography beyond the handle, the blog and the repositories.
