SylphAI
The company behind @skills and attention-is-all-you-have, the July 2026 crawl that counted 56,804 published agent skills. Founded by Li Yin; the paper's five SylphAI authors are Li Yin, Zhi Li, Zhan Shi, Haoran Zhang and Haebin Seong, with Zhangyang (Atlas) Wang of UT Austin as the outside co-author.
Its product is AdaL (adalagent.ai), pitched as "the AI engineer agent," which is the reference
implementation of the protocol and where the authors say it runs in production. Around it sit two
free pieces: the protocol itself as an open specification and npm package
(github.com/SylphAI-Inc/atskills), and atskills.one, a hub doing the jobs a file path cannot —
search across the public corpus, hosting for skills with no repository, private and team collections,
and browser authoring for non-developers.
The structure is worth naming because it shapes how to read the paper: the specification is free and
unrequirable, the agent is the product, and the hub is the position. The authors argue the hub can
never become mandatory — gh: paths and local folders resolve without it, forever, and
GitHub-hosted skills keep their gh: identity even when indexed — and cite git-versus-GitHub as the
precedent they are copying. The commitment is checkable in the spec. It is also the arrangement that
makes an open protocol commercially rational, so the sections where the hub is the answer are the
ones to check hardest.
The company's earlier work is AdalFlow, the auto-optimizing LLM-application library it is known for in the Python ecosystem, and a peer of dspy in the prompt-optimization thread. Not ingested here.
