Paged at the third rather than at first contact, because three sources from one essayist is a structural fact about the corpus, not a coincidence. The fourth arrived the next day.
What her essays are good for. She quotes at length instead of paraphrasing, names her editions and anthologies, and dates the material — which is why her pieces support direct quotation here at all. On carl-jung in particular she is the reason this wiki has his own sentences rather than a summary of them.
Where the care is needed. The connective argument between the quotes is hers, and it is literary rather than clinical: she reads Jung’s spaceless-timeless unconscious through Einstein and spacetime curvature in jung-on-death, and none of the Jung she quotes says that. Every source of hers here is T3 for the same reason — the quotes are reliable, the frame around them is an essayist’s. Separating the two is the standing job when ingesting her.
She is also a selection filter, and in-the-absence-of-the-ordinary shows how strong a one. Four Popova essays means four subjects Popova finds interesting: Jung twice, a Jungian analyst, and now a grief therapist writing about soul work. All four sit at the humanistic and depth-psychological end of this spoke; none is within reach of the experimental end where replication-crisis lives. That is a property of the corpus, not of her writing — but it is no longer a mild skew.
