The Marginalian
maria-popova‘s essay site, running since 2006 (formerly Brain Pickings), and the source of four pages in this spoke. Reader-funded, and its own donation appeal states the editorial position: “free, ad-free, AI-free, fully human”, with “no staff, no interns, not even an assistant — a thoroughly one-woman labor of love.”
That matters for tiering rather than for atmosphere. There is no editor and no fact-checker between the writer and the page, so the outlet adds no verification layer to what its author selects and frames. It is a good bibliography and a careful quoter; it is not a second opinion. The spoke’s Popova sources are all T3 for that reason, and the fix is the same in every case: read the anthology or the primary text she names.
The archive is organized by subject, psychology and philosophy among them, which is roughly the seam
this spoke shares with ../philosophy-wiki — a reminder that the routing boundary here is method,
not subject heading.
