Andrew Baker
Mathematician at the University of Glasgow; author of baker-algebra-number-theory. His homepage (checked 2026-10-04) lists him as an Honorary Senior Research Fellow in the School of Mathematics & Statistics, and names his main research area as algebraic topology, with workshop organization around structured ring spectra and Galois-type questions in topology.
So the number theory and group theory in these notes come from a topologist teaching a service course, not a number theorist. The same homepage lists notes from other lecture courses and a Springer book on matrix groups and Lie group theory, which this page has not followed up.
No Wikipedia entry was found for him, so the page carries his homepage as its identifier instead of a
same-as.
