ScienceAlert

Australian science-news site, founded 2004, republishing and summarising research for a general audience. Paged on its first appearance here, mind-after-midnight-sciencealert.

Where it sits against the other publisher nodes in this spoke — space-daily, psychology-today, silicon-canals, yourtango, the-marginalian — is the top of the T3 band, for two reasons found on the one source read so far:

  • It links to the primary. Every substantive claim in the piece carries a live URL to the paper or study behind it, which is precisely what space-daily does not do, and it is why this ingest could read tubbs-mind-after-midnight-2022 at all.
  • It names its fact-checker and editor, and publishes a correction invitation.

What keeps it at T3 rather than T2 is framing rather than error: a headline that states an evolutionary claim as settled, "scientists warn" over a paper asking for research, the article type (mini review) never mentioned, and one venue name wrong. It also re-dates republished copy without saying so — the ingested piece is stamped 20 September 2026 over an image path from October 2025.

The site is hard-blocked to automated fetching (HTTP 403 on both the article and the homepage); the text was read through Firecrawl.
