The Icelandic studio behind EVE Online (launched 2003) and EVE Frontier, and the parent of Fenris Creations, the studio that builds and now open-sources the Carbon engine. CEO Hilmar Veigar Pétursson made the longevity-through-openness case for open-sourcing Carbon (carbon-engine-open-source). CCP hedges its engine bets across titles — Carbon powers Project Awakening, while the EVE Vanguard FPS runs on Unreal.
