Larry Thibos

Faculty member at the indiana-university School of Optometry and the author of thibos-fourier-analysis, the coursenotes for V791: Quantitative Methods for Vision Research. Discovered while ingesting them.

The copyright line is the biography: 1989, 1993, 2000, 2003, 2012, 2014 — six editions over twenty-five years of teaching the same course. That is what the text’s T2 rating rests on. Vision science is his field, and the notes’ unusual chapters (statistics of Fourier coefficients, hypothesis testing on them, directional data analysis) are what a working experimentalist in that field needs and a mathematician would not have written.
