Michael Corral
Adjunct faculty member in the mathematics department of schoolcraft-college, and the author of corral-vector-calculus (2008). Discovered while ingesting that book.
The book’s “About the author” page gives his training: a BA in mathematics from Berkeley, and an MA in mathematics plus an MS in Industrial & Operations Engineering from Michigan. He releases his textbooks under the GNU Free Documentation License, and writes them in LaTeX and Emacs on Linux with MetaPost and Gnuplot figures — the production stack is stated in the colophon and is of a piece with the licence.
His preface is unusually direct about what the book is: he rates his own level of rigour a 5 out of
10 and explains the trade-off he made to get there. That habit is why this spoke’s CLAUDE.md
records the level a text is pitched at alongside its tier.
