A newly established plugin developer with no prior track record, which released five free sound-design plugins simultaneously for macOS and Windows in July 2026: Grainbrain, O2, Bunka, Foldspace, and Halide (xnullx-five-free-plugins). All ship VST3 + AU only.

What makes Xnullx worth a node rather than a footnote is the suspicion that the plugins are AI-generated — Synth Anatomy‘s reviewer reads the generic website and interfaces, plus the all-at-once release, as signs of AI-assisted development. Reader reports of a CPU-hammering site and a buggy Halide install fit the pattern of quantity over polish. So this is a watch node: an unproven maker that may be a bellwether for machine-generated audio software flooding the free-plugin channel. Held for evidence — if a later release proves the DSP is solid and maintained, the individual plugins earn pages then.
